Wild Ireland has already made quite an impact in the relatively short space of time it has been in operation. The company was the brainchild of a number of individuals who all share a passion for wildlife and the environment. The pool of skills and qualifications used to create the Wild Ireland concept and website include graphic and web design, photography and videography, diving, marine biology, geology, marketing and project management.

The company's base in a recently restored cornmill on the River Liffey near Naas (pictured above) reflects the Wild Ireland attitude that you can't "think" nature unless your surrounded by it! This also applies to their photographer, Bryan Deegan, who regularly spends time on location in places as diverse as the remote Saltee Islands, looking for nesting Gannets, underwater off the Muglins in Dublin looking for seals, or up in a helicopter, getting an aerial view of habitats.

Back at the office, the design team shapes all the information and uploads on a daily basis to the site, which can be found at the Wildireland Website. The site includes a monthly magazine which is suitable for all ages, a growing library of wildlife, a section for schools which currently focuses on Primary school needs and a discussion forum for airing your views on wildlife. There is also an online shop and a soon-to-be launched section for tourist information focusing on ecological tours.

Wild Ireland is keen to point out that the site is freely accessible, and is useful for all age groups and interests. They also value feedback on the various topics covered on the site, and encourage participation and ideas; that includes getting comments on the site, and giving out pointers on getting involved in nature activities.
